Not that I’m that frequent of a poster ( I don’t like the word blogger for some reason), but I’ve been absent from posting things on TheCmillerproject for some days. I had a glorious July 4th trip to Philadelphia. I spent time with family and did a little of this and that, touring the city and going to some events, trying good restaurants, and trying new beers (I love beer and I’m passionate about that stuff). A friend of mine across the country–when I described the kind of time I had over the weekend, that it sounded like one of those rewarding trips for everything going right in my life right now. She was kind of right. I do feel like I’m in a good place right now in some respects. Things could be a little different, and better, at the moment, but they are still good. I had a blast doing all of that stuff in Philadelphia, which has its own particular vibe, and good people (don’t try and compare cities…ever. You’ll just be biased and unfair), and the fireworks display in that old city was excellent. I’m not sure I’ve seen anything like it anywhere. However, I’ve never watched the one in New York City. Another friend said it’s amazing. My cousin said it’s amazing. That friend said ‘everything is better in New York’.
I do feel good about moving away from Florida to New York–a place that gives me everything my mind and body wants all wrapped up in one, and the space to focus on writing (arguably not as great as Florida and its peace). Circumstances lately have allowed me to focus even more on writing, but this place has put me in some weird aura to be a little more artistic.
