Trying at something is half of the battle. I’ve come up with ideas to start a story or novel or poem, and all you have to do is get it down. I don’t spend time worrying about whether it will be good enough, or how it will sound when read aloud. I can’t bother with it. You’ll never know if anything will be good enough, good in general, or whether you yourself will like it if an attempt is not made. Trying to do something and making an effort is most of the battle.
